OUR PEDIGREE
What once started as a Train Station, our turn of the century building is now home to our rustic and charming restaurant and brewery. Located in the heart of historic Flossmoor, Illinois we are a gathering place with deep roots in the community. Since our inception, Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery has been a destination for local families and craft beer lovers alike.

When the Illinois Central Railroad built the original building in 1906, there were only six homes in the community of Flossmoor. The area was a weekend and summer getaway for executives who lived and worked in the city. The convenience of the railroad service quickly brought new life to the ever growing area.

As time went by and eventually rendered the old building obsolete as a train station, it began to crumble to oblivion. Run-down and well on its way to becoming a safety liability, the building desperately needed some tender loving care. Flossmoor natives, Dean and Carolyn Armstrong, couldn’t sit back and watch the deterioration of the beloved historic building. The couple quickly decided to invest themselves into turning the building back into a charming establishment that the community could enjoy.
By adding modern conveniences, but preserving as much of the authentic character as possible, Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery soon became a reality thanks to the Armstrongs. Flossmoor and South Chicagoland now had a true public house and community gathering place that the Armstrongs devotedly persisted to achieve.
