Meet the Brewmaster
 

 

Nick Barron
Head Brewer


A craft beer enthusiast since the dubious ages of young adulthood, Nick began fermenting malt beverages as soon as he could legally consume them and has been passionate about craft beer and a part of the microbrewing industry for six years now.  Getting his start at a local brewery, the New Knox Brewery in Knoxville, TN and then later worked with the Smoky Mountain Brewery after finishing his undergrad (which happens to be in Classics, mostly delved in translating ancient Greek, which isn't terribly closely related to brewing, but that's another story...).  He finished his studies in the UK with the Institute of Brewing and Distilling after passing their grueling exams in 2009, and has moved to Chicago to continue his practice and further education in the art of craft brewing.  He's very excited to be a part of Flossmoor Station's brewing history and hopes to help develop more flavors and styles of beer, in and outside of the barrels.
